Cloud on Thursday

Back from the Vet

Niko: The V-E-T said my itching and congestion is just my allergies flaring up. He said it doesn't seem to be bad enough to warrant steroids, so I'm just gonna have to deal wif it until allergy season is over or if I get a lot worse. It doesn't seem to bother me too much and the doctor said I sound fine in my lungs and all, just a little mild nasal congestion, no big deal.
Cloud: The doctor did not find any parasites on me. He says I am most likely just stressed, or possibly this is me reacting to allergy season. For now the Beans are to try spraying Feliway around the house, and keep an eye on me for a few weeks. The Doctor also said sometimes cats act this way with urinary problems, but since I haven't shown any symptoms of that he wasn't going to steal my pee or bloods for now, but the beans should keep an eye on our litter boxes.
So the good news is for now no new medicines, just wait for allergee season to pass and keep an eye on us and all should be fine! Yay! Yay for cheap vet bills too!

Vet Stuff

Cloud: Turns out I'm going to have some company going to the V-E-T today.
Niko's congestion has come back (if you remember, he had one "cold" after another that we eventually found out were allergies, not colds). So we've been on the allergy medicine all this time (We both also sneezed some of the time) which helped for several months, and now our sneezing and Nikos' congestion has come back. Mom called the V-E-T to see since it's allergy season maybe he could recommend something else for now, but he asked to see Niko too so into the PTU he will be going as well. Also, he's been scratching at his neck for a while now, (not his collar because even when the Beans take it off for a bath and leave it off for a few days he still scratches), but since there were no signs of redness or fur loss, etc they were going to just let it be until our annual stabs this summer, but might as well get that checked out now too.
Niko: The good news is that Cloud's red spot seems to be fading a little bit. We think it was a bite mark that Cloud did to herself, because she's also been pulling out her fur and over grooming, which is what seems to be the cause of the bald spots. Hopefully today we'll find out why she is trying to become bald.
Cloud: Didn't you know bald is the latest cat fashion?
Niko: Uh, not so much. Let's go sniff the door to see if Grandma is here yet so she can give us treats before we go to the V-E-T at least!

Thankful Thursday (but not thankful about the vet)

Cloud: I'm so thankful for my yummy foods. I didn't even notice my tail was in the water fountain! (I was eating out of our kibble bowl, which you can't see in the pictor. The pink bowl next to me is the stinky goodness bowl.)
Yes, we still drink out of the fountain too!!

We are also all thankful that Murphy is alright. His Mom says that his results came back a few days ago and his bloodwork was all normal, and he only has 2 other bad teef, they will need to come out in a few weeks. So all in all not too bad. Thanks for purring for him!

Lastly, we are thankful because Murphy's Mom sent us over some new foods to try that Murphy and his sister Daphne didn't like, and we nommed them right up.
Lots of things to be thankful for today, and only one thing not:

Cloud:
I'm NOT happy at all.

Look what Mom found. It's blurry cuz I don't want her to see it so I wiggled alot. But look. Click to bigify if you need to.

I have a Red Spot. And a Bald Spot there too. I've heard the following ominous words: Bath, tonight, V-E-T, Saturday. I also heard the words Grandma and Saturday mentioned near each other too, so at least I'll be getting lots of treats Saturday. But this isn't very good. I was just being a super good groomer, I didn't mean to give myself a spot....
We will update Saturday with how it goes, but Mom works late on Saturday so the update might not come til late (Dad and Grandma are taking me to the V-E-T, and they don't update the blog, only Mom does).

I didn't do it

Dad: It seems like this one bite from the hot dog bun here was not made by a human. This looks like a cat bite.

Cloud: What? Why are you lookin at me?!

Niko, Mom, and Dad: No, we don't know why she went for the bun, not the hot dog. Wierd kitten.
Cloud: I YAM INNOCENT! Or not.

Thankful Thursday

Niko:
I'm thankful because I got my collar off. It's not the funnest thing to wear, but it makes a great toy. Mom came down and I had it in my mouth, and I was prancing around like a hunterkitty. Well, Mom couldn't get the flashy box ready before I dropped it, but I let her take photos of me as I played with it.





Uh-oh, I milked this long enough! Even though I was so cute, she's PUTTING THE COLLAR BACK ON ME! OH NOOOOOS!

Cloud: Here I yam, being a parrot on Daddy's shoulder. This was about a month after we moved in with Mom and Dad.

Niko: We are going to take a break from the funny contests, just for a few weeks, to give cats time to get their funny jooses flowing again. So today we will start (yes, at the end of the week, 'acause that makes the most sense) Baby Week, where we randomly show you a few of our baby pictures. Mom says we are still teknikally babies for almost THREE more monfs, but don't lissen to her. And be sure to scroll down to see yesterday's update about Murphy!

We will start fings off with the first picture of me ever in our sleeping room. I was about 10 weeks old.

Purrs for Murphy please- Update

Hey everycat, please send a quick purr for our half-brofurcat Murphy!

As most of you know, our Mom's first cat Texas who went to the bridge last summer was given to her by a friend of hers at work. Mom's friend, Texas' Mommy C, was moving and could only bring 2 of her cats wif her. It worked out for Texas anyway because he really wanted to be an only cat and so he had many happy years with our Mom and Dad (this was before us of course) before he had to go to the bridge cause of yikky cancer.

Well, anyway, Ms.C still has her ofur two cats, and one of them, Murphy, has toof problems. One of his teef was inflammed for a little bit, and it fell out last night. Murphy doesn't have a blog, but Ms. C came in to work this morning and told our Mom that he has to go to the V-E-T at 12:30 today. So could you all please send a few purrs for him that he doesn't have any ofur toof problems?

UPDATE: Murphy's Mom posted the following in commentd:
Thank you everyone. Murphy is home now and doing well. He had to have some blood taken so they can do some tests to make sure there is nothing going on that we can't see. We will know in a few days!

Mancat Monday

It is not manly in any way at all for your Dad to put you between empty food cartons and pretend to eat you with your food boxes just because you were laying on the first carton.

Our New Toy!

Niko: Uncle Mo sent Mom some q-pons. He sent one for free litter with purchase of crunchies, one for a furminator, and one for a fountain. Mom decided not to use the Furminator one after all because she found it much cheaper online (If anyone wants it, please email us or leaf a comment and we can send it over). But she got the food and litter, and the fountain. Let's see if we liked it:






Mom says that's a yes! And don't worry, she moved the cord to a better spot so it won't get wet and will be getting a cord cover for it shortly- until then we aren't allowed to use it unsnoopervised. These pictures were taken less than 2 minutes after it got set up- Cloud was checking it out while Mom was still filling it even, and I came running up not a minute later!
