Test Results from the V-E-T

Mystery # 2 is solved! (Mystery #1 was the mystery of the Red Bump, which was fleas. Mystery # 2 is mystery of the Cat Pee)

Cloud:
Well, it seems that it was probably ME peeing all over the house, but I won't tell.
The V-E-T called Dad Sunday and told him that Niko's pee was normal, but mine had crystals in it. They asked Dad if there was still somecat peeing around the house, and there isn't, and there is normal pee in the boxes. So they said for now just keep us on the antibiotics to be safe, and hopefully my crystals were a reaction to the stress from the fleas. If any more pee is found around the house or if I show any other symptoms I will have to get more tests to find out more about my crystals, the doctor said it may turn out that I have stones. Has any other cat had crystals in their pee before? Mom is a little worried because she's never had a cat with crystals before and she doesn't really know what to make of this. (Okay, she's worried because Mom worries a lot in general but shh I didn't say that).
Thanks for all your purrs and comments- advice welcome.

P.S. Oh and we also got an award last week. We didn't forget, Mom says we will announce it formally very soon.

Hai! So sorry about the crystals in your pee, Cloud. When Cal was 3 years old he developed uroliths (stones) and had to be hospitalized for 3 days with a catheter. When he was released he was put on Science Diet C/D-S and a medicine I cannot recall that had to be specially made at Road Runner Pharmacy.

Sounds like Whicky has had lots of experience and will have some great information!

We purr that you feel better very soon!!

Hi Niko and Cloud! We're happy to meet you. Sorry to hear about the v-e-t visit, we've been doing that for annual shots lately, and poor Bugsy is kinda sick too - he has what was thought to be a UTI due to his peeing issues but instead is a stone and he has to have surgery to fix his problem. :( We're happy that your problem is much easier fixed, Cloud!

Purrs and hugs,

I had crystals when I was younger and was doing little tiny pees wiv blood all over the place. The V E T said it was caused by stress and it was right after our old ladycat went to the Bridge. I had shots to make me better and I've never had any more problems.

About 2 years ago, I kept going in and out of my litter box and only peeing a little bit of pink potty. They kept trying different antibiotics, but it did not help. An x-ray showed I had bladder stones. A special diet did not dissolve them, so I had surgery to remove them. After that, my vet gave me prescription food.

My new (holistic) vet, thinks that the prescription food is not very good. He recommended that I eat a wet diet to help prevent more stones. Now I eat raw food and I love it, and no more stones!

Charlemagne here - I had crystals when I was about 9 months old. It hurt a lot and I was glad when the vet put me on special food because it made the nasty crystals go away. I think I had to take some medicines, too, but I don't remember for sure.

Hope that you feel better soon!
