OK, I can't believe we have to write this on our blog...but Mom says we have to make a post on cat food.
See, Mom bought us two big pallets of the Science Diet canned food cuz the vet said that's what we should eat. Well, we used to eat it, but then Mom gave us some of Texas' remaining cans, and now we only want to eat those or junk food cans from the grocery store. Mom says if we don't want to eat them after these pallets are gone, that's OK, but she really wants us to eat these cans so they don't go to waste. She says they costed a lot of green papers.
Does anybody know of a way she can like mix some gravy or something into the Science Diet cans so we'll eat them? If not, I guess she wants to know the address of somekitty near central Maryland who wants these cans, since apparently we don't want to touch them anymore.
Mom is sort of frustrated with us....

The store you bought them from should take them back and refund your green papers. Hopefully your mommie still has the receipt. Our mommie has even done this for opened bags of dry food and they have taken it back if we won't eat it.
Your mom could try mixing the SD food with the junk food...mix it about half and half and see if you guys will eat it...then slowly change the ratio of SD to junk until you are eating all the SD.
Our Mommy says cats are frustrating creatures. The three of us all like different things. Luckily we all like dry catfood. ~S,S & C
Maggy & Zoey are very fussy eaters. And what they like one week, they seem to hate the following week. We take a little of the liquid (flavored water) from human tuna and dribble it over both dry food & wet food that they seem "not to like" and then they will often eat it OK. The other choice is to donate the leftover food (wet or dry) to a nearby shelter or humane society; ours here are always very happy to receive food items, even those partially used.
Niko & Cloud, we LOVE our homemade chicken cat food. Ask your mommie to mix some cooked chicken in that food and we bit you'll love it, too!
Rocky
we agree with Rocky and the Island cats - mix something in half and half. Oh, and concatulations on making your mom jump through hoops.
Hahahaha...sorry, but making da mom's a little nuts by not eating something is great. Yeah, mix some junk food in and we bet it will taste better. 'Cept, mom sez dat da vets often push a food cuz dey make money on it. Speedy (and finally Zippy) haf been eating something called "before grain #3" (#3 is da fishy flavor)and it's really good stuff.
Unfortunately, I am not any help because I am so finicky on what I will eat! I tend to frustrate my mom on a daily basis because one day I will eat with relish and the next day I turn up my nose at the same food. The idea of mixing the food is good and the vet suggested I heat my can food approximately 6-7 seconds for the aroma!
Heh...we did that once, liked a food but then decided Fancy Feast was just better so we wouldn't eat the "good" stuff. The Woman wound up taking it to the SPCA, and they were very grateful to get it. If money isn't the main issue, maybe give it to hungry kitties...?
I think trying to mix it with something yummy would make sense. Worth a go.
Boy does our mom know about being frustrated with kitties who won't eat their foods!! Thanks to mom for her wonderful suggestions. We will try to get some probiotics and we were already doing the 1/4 tab of pepcid when Cal had a little vomit spell and it worked. This one was a big vomit spell and he couldn't keep anything down. Thanks!!

If the store won't take it back, we'd suggest mixing something you do like with what you don't like in a proportion that you'll eat.
Te He He, I do the same thing over at my house. As soon as they but in bulk I decide I no longer like it.
